How many times a day, a week, an hour do we shake our heads in disbelief at what’s happening these days? How often do we wonder how much worse it all can get? How much do we try to abate our unease, our sadness, our fear of what this whole mess will lead to or how it’s going to end up?
So common are the conversations with others and with ourselves that trail off into that gray, dense land of no definitive answers or solutions to any of the abominations of which we’re now aware that we end up with no choice but deflect with distractions or fake laughs or a sprinkle positively charged pixie dust and keep on “chopping wood and carrying water.” We go on with our day. What else is there to do?
The dinner-table chats about how bad things are getting and how it all got started and who’s to blame for it and how to fix it are nothing new. It makes no difference which “side” you’re on or for which team you root, the level of absurdity looks the same. The daily mantra from “both” camps is, “What the hell?” (Insert all variable forms of colorful exclamations.)
“It” is so big and formidable that we sense there really is no more preparing for it or stopping it or reckoning with it or denying it … whatever “it” is. No, this is not your everyday - everyyear, everydecade, everycentury - level of chaos! These are actually quite unordinary times and what humanity has begun to consider a “normalized” level of corruption, catastrophe, confusion, collective carnage is anything but.
Without vast areas of sky-blocking light, chemical and frequency pollution and before the “dumbing down” of our senses and our natural ability to connect with the Above and Below, humans of past times were able to observe and record the cosmic patterns they studied with all of their senses, thereby giving them the ability to work with those patterns and apply what they learned to their life on Earth. When the Sun went down, the news came on through the lens of the sky. And when the Sun reappeared more information came to light.
What’s happening right now is that Earth and all of its inhabitants are undergoing a massive shift of grand cosmic cycles. All the hands of the “great clock” are at the top o’ the hour. Just like the observable and predictable movement of the clock’s hands, the time of this changing hour has been foreseen and foretold (prophesied) for millenia.
Today we may not be able to connect to the cosmos in the same way but surely we feel, sense and know something is happening! Here are a few points, frameworks, and systems (with links included) that give some context to the immense and intense time we’re all in, like, right now!
[First, a great video that summarizes all of this!]
research on the Yuga cycles and texts from India indicating that Kali Yuga - the time of the deepest density - “ends” in 2025 (Unraveling the Mysteries of the Yuga Cycle; Book - Yuga Shift by Bibhu Dev Misra);
the nearly 26,000 Great (or Platonic) Year ending and beginning;
the turning of the 4th Sun for the Hopi and Maya and the 5th Sun for the Aztec and Toltec;
entering the next astrological “age;” ie: the “Age of Aquarius” (Article on these factors …)
the period of “Crisis” in the 4th Turning (The Fourth Turning by Neil Howe and William Strauss)
the 6th mass extinction (numerous articles describing this … here’s one);
once-in-83-years Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in Taurus — the last time this happened was 1941, which corresponded with a 4th Turning; 83 years before that (1858) this conjunction corresponded with a 4th Turning as did the previous one in 1775, etc. … getting the picture? Read more ...)
Pluto moving into the sign of Aquarius where it will be for 20 years;
4th eclipse paths crossing the US since 2012;
the US 3rd Pluto return and 5th Chiron return (More about the US chart, eclipse paths and the 4th Turning …)
… that’s not all, folks!
No, these are no ordinary times. This is it!
It’s like we’re in the agitation cycle of the wash — we can’t pull the dirty laundry out anymore and it’s drenched and waterlogged anyway. But it’s not quite clean either and we just have to let the machine do what it does until it spins things dry enough to at least open the door and see how it turned out. We’re being agitated. And the laundry we pull out probably isn’t going to look anything like the laundry we put in anyway.
We are in a great “Turning of the Ages” - a time of quickening, of acceleration, of recapitulation.
If we’re sensitive or observant at all, we are aware of the quickening and the acceleration:
Quickening - making alive (reviving); enlivening (stimulating); burning more intensely, shining more brightly (kindling); entering a phase of active growth and development; reaching the stage of gestation in which fetal motion is felt
Acceleration - the act or process of moving faster or happening more quickly
A deeper inquiry into the third aspect - recapitulation - yields some interesting correspondences indeed:
Recapitulation - 1) emergence during embryonic development of characters or structure not present in the earlier evolutionary history of the strain or species;
2) a hypothetical occurrence in an individual organism’s development of successive stages resembling the series of ancestral types from which it has descended so that the ontogeny of the individual retraces the phylogeny of its group;
Ontogeny - the development or course of development of an individual organism
Phylogeny - the evoloutionary history of a kind of organism
[In other words, the development of the individual organism as distinguished from the evolution of a genetically related group of organisms.]
3) A summary at the end that repeats the substance of a longer discussion;
4) (In music), the repetition of themes introduced earlier; a self-contained part of a larger composition.
So, a recap.
Originally used in the 1590’s, the word “capitulation” meant the organizing of material under headings; “to draw up a writing in chapters or articles;” a summary that enumerates the main parts of a topic (from Latin capitulum or “chapter”)
So recapitulation usually involves the gathering of the main ideas into a brief summary; to repeat the principal things mentioned in a preceding discourse. But a recapitulation may be a complete restatement as well. From Latin recapitulatus, past participle of recapitulare "go over the main points of a thing again," literally "restate by heads or chapters."
I’m going further into this point because I can’t help but notice this is actually happening … with many people at many stages. Individuals - including me and probably you - are developing, becoming “alive” and awakened, looking again at the main chapters and themes of our lives and putting them into a brief summary, a synopsis, a storyline. We’re healing generations and past lives of trauma, grief, sorrow, imprisonment, enslavement, warfare, scarcity, fear and terror quickly … all in one lifetime. It’s as if we knew at a soul level that this would be the time we could encapsulate many experiences and lifetimes in order to digest it all and evolve “distinguished from (our) related group of organisms.”
“Many are chosen; few choose.”
This quote and the term “Turning of the Ages” was first coined by the founder of the Shamanic Astrology Paradigm™ and Turning of the Ages Mystery School, Daniel Giamario. From his 55+ years of deep research and application of vast knowledge and wisdom combined with his firsthand observation and experience with the night sky, he calls us to return to observing these patterns with our own eyes, to use frameworks of interpretation that empower us and our personal journey, and to “dream the dream onward” as we get to know and develop who we are and what our purpose is individually and collectively in this Great Turning.
No small task this recapitulation.
Even if unconsciously on a soul level we chose to be here now, few choose to consciously search hard and deep for their unique, personal path and purpose for this lifetime and to actively and fervently pursue it. It is not the path of least resistance! It goes against the grain. Adhering to our own path of greater purpose lets people down and pisses them off and we’re nostalgic and don’t want to lose friends and family members so we create our constructs and choose our sides and choose our distractions and deflections so we can fit in and avoid labels and admonishments and loss. We want to keep some things the way they were but we know there is drastic change at hand - within and without - and those ways and things really aren’t even available anymore. The clinging doesn’t work. The backup plans are obsolete. The old world, the old age, the old cycle, the old phase, the old you, the old me are slipping away and all things will never be the same.
“Behold, I make all things new.” Rev 21:5
As above, so below.
I HAVE NOT as of yet watched the video but I will today.....What a great article Lizzie. So much to respond about. Thank you for the knowledge and wisdom. As above so below.....
Well done recapitulation, Lizzie!
